Williams Painting Co., faux finishes such as Faux Bois (wood graining), Faux marbre (marble), strie (combing), wall glazes with a variety of textures eg. suede, stone or parchment, can all be achieved to transform ordinary walls into beautiful decorative statements. In addition, Trompe L’oeil ( ‘fool the eye’) painting can imitate any object eg. architectural elements, bookshelves, windows or columns etc., on almost any surface, in any location. Since 1997, John Begansky Decorative Painting has worked exclusively with A.G. Williams Painting Co. in the Westchester area. A.G. Williams Painting Co. is proud of its relationship with John and the beautiful work that they have created over the years. A.G. Williams Painting is also proud to include John’s associate, David Fox, as part of their creative team. Both John and David have extensive experience in the decorative painting field and look forward to bringing their skills to future projects.
JOHN BEGANSKY has over 30 years experience as a decorative painter. John combines the aesthetic developed as an architectural photographer with his years of training under one of New York’s foremost faux artists. He is a master craftsman in all aspects of decorative painting and specializes in faux bois. He has worked with muralist David Fox for over ten years and together they have collaborated with many high profile clients in New York and the Tri-state area.
John studied at the School of Visual Arts NYC, graduating with a degree in Photography. He has continued to pursue photography alongside his career in decorative painting, receiving both public and private commissions and also exhibiting his work in galleries and venues around New York.
Major commissions in the NY area include the South St. Seaport Museum, the D&D Building, Warner Communications Co., CBS and many restaurants, hotels and private residences.
Showcases include Interior Visions Show House and Gardens Rye N.Y. and the Royal Oak Society N.Y.C. 1994, both events produced by Chris Madden. John’s work is in the permanent collection of the National Historic Trust, Washington, D.C.
DAVID FOX is a master muralist and decorative painter. He was born in England and moved to the United States in the 1980’s. He has an MFA in painting from the Maryland Institute College of Art, where he was the first recipient Graduate Painting Fellowship.
Fox has fifteen years experience as a muralist, specializing in large scale projects but also has extensive experience with trompe l’oeil and all aspects of decorative painting.
He began his decorative career at Janet Pope Studio in Baltimore, where he worked on prestigious projects in the Baltimore and Washington D.C. areas. Currently based in New York, he continues to work in collaboration with John Begansky. Together they have been commissioned by many high profile clients in New York State and have also been very active in Palm Beach, Florida and North Carolina.
Fox has a distinguished record as an exhibiting artist and has work in many private and public collections. He is an Adjunct Professor at Westchester Community College where he has taught enthusiastic classes for the last 14 years.
