Wondering if you missed your chance to paint outdoors?
You aren’t alone! Summer slips by quickly, turning quickly into fall here in Westchester, Fairfield, Rockland, and Putnam counties. Many of our friends and neighbors are wondering if there’s still time to paint, or if their project will need to wait until next spring.
It really comes down to two key considerations: your painter’s availability and the weather.
Book Your Fall Exterior Painting Projects As Early As Possible
Your painter, especially if you have an established relationship, will do everything they can to accommodate your needs, but it’s still crucial to plan ahead. Fall is a transitional season, spanning the summer boom months for exterior work, and the rush for wintertime interior painting (especially leading up to the holidays).
We recommend talking to your painter right away. And if you’re considering interior work this winter, mention that too so you can save a spot on their schedule!
Is Fall Too Cold for Exterior Painting?
Thanks to modern paint formulas, we can often paint right into November. This is extremely dependent on the weather, since temps need to be dry and consistent throughout the day, and still above freezing at night. An experienced painting company will know the limitations and risk factors, helping you navigate your options without compromising the quality of your paint job or its adhesion.
So yes, fall is a wonderful time to paint, but you need to plan ahead and use the right products for the job.
