Ten years is a meaningful milestone for any organization. For a children’s museum, it represents a decade of curiosity sparked, creativity encouraged, and families brought closer together through shared discovery. On Sunday, April 26, 2026, the Westchester Children’s Museum 10th Anniversary celebration honored exactly that, and A.G. Williams Painting Company was proud to be part of it.
The free day of play—generously underwritten by the Fierstein Family Foundation in honor of their late brother, Micah Fierstein—drew families from across Westchester County for a full day of hands-on activities, community connection, and the kind of joy that comes from watching children engage fully with the world around them. For our team, it was both a privilege and a natural fit. We have served this community for more than a century, and supporting institutions that invest in its future is one of the ways we give that back.

Preparing the Space for a Special Occasion
In the weeks ahead of the celebration, A.G. Williams Painting Company partnered with the museum to complete interior paint maintenance throughout the facility. Our crew fully painted one room at the museum, refreshing a highly visible event space with large windows overlooking the boardwalk and sound.

A Community Mural, Created Together
Among the day’s most meaningful activities was a collaborative mural project sponsored by A.G. Williams Painting Company. Two large rolls of canvas were set up for guests to contribute throughout the event, one during the morning session and one in the afternoon.
Children of every age picked up brushes and added their own marks: bright colors, handprints, painted shapes, and personal touches that no adult would have thought to include. Parents participated alongside their kids. Strangers added strokes next to each other’s contributions without a second thought.
By the end of the day, two blank canvases had been transformed into something the museum will keep: a portrait of the community that it has served, year after year.
Once completed, both murals will be professionally stretched and gifted permanently to the Westchester Children’s Museum as commemorative works honoring its 10th anniversary. They will hang as a reminder of what this milestone meant to the families who have made this museum part of their lives.
Face Painting by Making Faces Parties, Inc.
As a bit of extra fun and flair, A.G. Williams Painting Company sponsored a face-painting station that drew a steady line of eager visitors throughout the day. Staffed by the talented artists of Making Faces Parties, Inc., and managed by the excellent event staff at the Westchester Children’s Museum, the activity gave children a chance to wear their imagination in full color.

From butterflies and tigers to superheroes and floral designs, the work was both skillful and delightful. For many of the younger visitors, the face-painting station was a highlight of the day, and the artists handled the steady flow of excited children with patience and creativity in equal measure.

The Westchester Children’s Museum 10th Anniversary was, above all, a celebration of what a decade of commitment can produce. Thousands of children have passed through those doors. Hundreds of programs have been offered. Countless families have made the museum a regular part of how they spend time together.
